Happy Anniversary
For quite some time now I've been interested in metal stamping. I thought that it would be a perfect addition to a lot of the beaded pieces I've made throughout the years. Let me tell you about my wonderful husband... He knows that I'm slightly obsessed with my projects and that there is always something I "NEED". Plus he also knows that I'm rather hard to shop for but I won't always buy what I really want. I suppose you could say in four years he's learned a lot and he's also surprised me with a few wonderful and thoughtful gifts. This year for our anniversary I was quite surprised to open a rather fat envelope. Hallmark always has a way with words and so does my husband. One the front - a male and female frog with the words "I'll love you..." On the inside "Till I Croak, Happy Anniversary." How sweet and very Jarrod:) Also, on the inside was a pile of twenties. He said I know you want some bead stuff so I want you to use this for that - and I did. Now I'm set up to stamp metal!

This summer came and went. Sterling Trails projects have been on hiatus. The beautiful Colorado mountains have sucked me in. This flatlander has found a love for the outdoors, I can hardly resist a trip up the mountain, it’s peaceful, relaxing and it’s not work. So while I’ve been basking in the sun on top of the Greenhorn, my creative juices have been flowing. Here are a few photos from the adventures…
Jarrod, me and Matt and Shylo (the photographer) scouting for elk near Westcliffe, CO.
Fishing on the Greenhorn Trail not too bad for a rookie.

Hobby Room After
My work space. The cart is on wheels and I can roll it around to a new location. I used recycled jars to visibly store my supplies and baskets to organize other materials so far it works well.
The new room. We found the mis-matched cabinets and rolling cart at Habitat Restore and painted them to match. The futon is a free hand-me-down repainted and covered, we thought it best to have a little seating for friends. The wood top of the rolling cart is from an old coffee table. The counter top for Jarrod's work, the bar stools, tin storage containers and the hardware on the cabinets are the only new items in the room. A good friend built us the self with recycled wood. We love our new and inexpensive space!

New Location
On February 11, 2010 Jarrod and I closed on our first house. We're enjoying making it a home. One of the most exciting things about owning a home is making it your own. Jarrod and I have been painting, decorating and adding small touches to personalize our space. We have a great view of the sunrise every morning. We are truly blessed to live in a beautiful area.
I'm most excited about our current project. It's a "hobby" room. We decided to call it that as we are sharing the space for his hunting things and my craft things. I'll have to post before and after photos when it's complete. Our friends are finding it rather funny that he has seven feet of counter space and I have four. But it's all about working together and my area is on wheels plus I'm pretty good at spreading out on the floor!
