I thought that it would be a perfect addition to a lot of the beaded pieces I've made throughout the years. Let me tell you about my wonderful husband... He knows that I'm slightly obsessed with my projects and that there is always something I "NEED". Plus he also knows that I'm rather hard to shop for but I won't always buy what I really want. I suppose you could say in four years he's learned a lot and he's also surprised me with a few wonderful and thoughtful gifts. This year for our anniversary I was quite surprised to open a rather fat envelope. Hallmark always has a way with words and so does my husband. One the front - a male and female frog with the words "I'll love you..." On the inside "Till I Croak, Happy Anniversary." How sweet and very Jarrod:) Also, on the inside was a pile of twenties. He said I know you want some bead stuff so I want you to use this for that - and I did. Now I'm set up to stamp metal!Sterling Trailshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13154233544591596702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178364607301625675.post-58838660401618159632010-08-27T18:14:00.000-07:002010-08-27T18:35:49.483-07:00This summer came and went. Sterling Trails projects have been on hiatus. The beautiful <st1:place st="on"><st1:state st="on">Colorado</st1:state></st1:place> mountains have sucked me in. This flatlander has found a love for the outdoors, I can hardly resist a trip up the mountain, it’s peaceful, relaxing and it’s not work. So while I’ve been basking in the sun on top of the Greenhorn, my creative juices have been flowing. Here are a few photos from the adventures… <p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZVAUtgrdYOnOaKriO7p8GXLNClKvPH9teoc9RkPqLEI1q95OuYCh9lUETVmzJQ0XPTiqnkKEQUL_M7jrF_LBoEkk1b7f0qr8G08jdED7dbPXOJ20Q6g22QY9mUSwHicyvXILQE_b4bZ7U/s1600/summer2010+022.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZVAUtgrdYOnOaKriO7p8GXLNClKvPH9teoc9RkPqLEI1q95OuYCh9lUETVmzJQ0XPTiqnkKEQUL_M7jrF_LBoEkk1b7f0qr8G08jdED7dbPXOJ20Q6g22QY9mUSwHicyvXILQE_b4bZ7U/s400/summer2010+022.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510267702514913954" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWmYiOmUNECj4L_O00O10iEP3XpeCtScurplqkFf2i4S0negMAsGewjXVyPQc_GRG0HQmLNELhpq5usIeQqLXu9me33SfnD2z0GcPRl34PeiWQKqLmQUZw5-LotWQB1Ndfm-g5SRecLNth/s1600/summer2010+009.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWmYiOmUNECj4L_O00O10iEP3XpeCtScurplqkFf2i4S0negMAsGewjXVyPQc_GRG0HQmLNELhpq5usIeQqLXu9me33SfnD2z0GcPRl34PeiWQKqLmQUZw5-LotWQB1Ndfm-g5SRecLNth/s400/summer2010+009.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510267995041735922" border="0" /></a></p><p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="">Jarrod, me and Matt</span><span style=""> and </span><span style="">Shylo (the photographer) scouting for </span><span style="">elk near Westcliffe, CO.</span></p><p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="">Fishing on the Greenhorn Trail not too bad for a rookie.<br /></span></p><p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><span style=""><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><br /></p>Sterling Trailshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13154233544591596702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178364607301625675.post-73171037452304746192010-04-11T06:48:00.000-07:002010-04-11T07:22:16.789-07:00Hobby Room After<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipXUH8BDAa0dUS9VzMXjIwmsbHbiQa94l86InwBNDsfQiaGl1O9ol7itM5cckjmA4_1ghprIpu8HljE-zzCwFF_4aGef44cRPYcXNI12pRyebP1fIScW6bhyphenhyphen8TJrbFoY3QdwxNsTXt7fBO/s1600/Dec.-March2009+031.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipXUH8BDAa0dUS9VzMXjIwmsbHbiQa94l86InwBNDsfQiaGl1O9ol7itM5cckjmA4_1ghprIpu8HljE-zzCwFF_4aGef44cRPYcXNI12pRyebP1fIScW6bhyphenhyphen8TJrbFoY3QdwxNsTXt7fBO/s400/Dec.-March2009+031.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458882645447808370" border="0" /></a><br />My work space. The futon is a free hand-me-down repainted and covered, we thought it best to have a little seating for friends. The wood top of the rolling cart is from an old coffee table. The counter top for Jarrod's work, the bar stools, tin storage containers and the hardware on the cabinets are the only new items in the room. A good friend built us the self with recycled wood. We're enjoying making it a home. One of the most exciting things about owning a home is making it your own. Jarrod and I have been painting, decorating and adding small touches to personalize our space. We have a great view of the sunrise every morning. We are truly blessed to live in a beautiful area.<br /><br />I'm most excited about our current project. It's a "hobby" room. We decided to call it that as we are sharing the space for his hunting things and my craft things. I'll have to post before and after photos when it's complete. Our friends are finding it rather funny that he has seven feet of counter space and I have four. But it's all about working together and my area is on wheels plus I'm pretty good at spreading out on the floor!Sterling Trailshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13154233544591596702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178364607301625675.post-20458382541989052322010-03-19T19:23:00.000-07:002010-04-11T07:27:05.676-07:00Snow day<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9-ffqzsYM1oAl4cyiETENioR1es2SQQ4jMDw7jfX0SxNzwQKzFHBBlN6Epj_gBXzVBtBWOe0raBR0VmqSHPBGSB6XZArAWo8HFBITpmmMx6o-U53JopsFKJlGWX5w8fO6N658FuZdZ2em/s1600/Dec.-March2009+023.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9-ffqzsYM1oAl4cyiETENioR1es2SQQ4jMDw7jfX0SxNzwQKzFHBBlN6Epj_gBXzVBtBWOe0raBR0VmqSHPBGSB6XZArAWo8HFBITpmmMx6o-U53JopsFKJlGWX5w8fO6N658FuZdZ2em/s400/Dec.-March2009+023.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458885961771803394" border="0" /></a>Cache has adopted the closet as her new bedroom and some pajamas as her bed.<br /></div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaT5Z8Zs5nUXGMzRpAdd1ZcFSETEgXFSiZ2ZAgqv8yEM_D4ZqUTJGhGahX8MDSCRgkc0jA3fLmBHs5jwFgdiBJPOIz2DOlQJkN9mbUXturfJn7_Yfuc2_KFpx2efgKabz5VJvxncPIOXNc/s1600-h/Summer+2009+037.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 141px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaT5Z8Zs5nUXGMzRpAdd1ZcFSETEgXFSiZ2ZAgqv8yEM_D4ZqUTJGhGahX8MDSCRgkc0jA3fLmBHs5jwFgdiBJPOIz2DOlQJkN9mbUXturfJn7_Yfuc2_KFpx2efgKabz5VJvxncPIOXNc/s200/Summer+2009+037.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451649424834350050" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4tvmNDZ54ipt3ezc8afPWuPPK2VrjVU1G5YfZWYjD-4dl7CbEW2mSa_OKTQUSaHZR_vjeYXiOpnyXZ7IRpCdsT5b6Fi9aE8dRw5FniTk6q4sxD0gS75Neb-DsOCXF-BvtDG1U6dTOEYGY/s1600-h/Dec.-March2009+044.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 141px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4tvmNDZ54ipt3ezc8afPWuPPK2VrjVU1G5YfZWYjD-4dl7CbEW2mSa_OKTQUSaHZR_vjeYXiOpnyXZ7IRpCdsT5b6Fi9aE8dRw5FniTk6q4sxD0gS75Neb-DsOCXF-BvtDG1U6dTOEYGY/s200/Dec.-March2009+044.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451649415333575842" border="0" /></a><br />Spring is here and that means big wet snows that melt in a few days. I rode many horses at many rodeos in nine states. I had lots of adventures and made many new friends. My travels were made possible by the many generous supporters I had. Not only did they help me <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">financially</span> but they encouraged me to do great things. Thanks to everyone that contributed to the year. It changed my life and I am forever grateful. <div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">The <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">experience</span> taught me to leave my comfort zones and explore the many new adventures life may bring. The early settlers of the west were artists in many ways they created what they needed using natural materials. (Thank God, since we've advanced to running water and sewing machines:) I've always been inspired by the beauty of nature and have enjoyed working with materials created by God. In high school I began making jewelry and through 4-H I was involved in leather craft. I've experimented with all kinds of construction, clothing design, sewing, woodwork, painting, leather craft and paper craft.</div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">When the year as Miss Rodeo Kansas was over I needed <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">something</span> to fill my "spare time" other than my job and school, so I decided to make a business of being crafty. My mom and I joined forces and started Sterling Trails. It took a few years to get the ball rolling and we're still in the early stages. Nothing is impossible if you think it is possible.</div>Sterling Trailshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13154233544591596702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178364607301625675.post-27470596655587297522009-08-18T14:40:00.000-07:002009-08-18T14:41:23.628-07:00Visit sterlingtrails.com and click on the shop link to see new items!Sterling Trailshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13154233544591596702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178364607301625675.post-12070558750312668932009-08-12T12:37:00.000-07:002009-08-12T12:40:48.753-07:00WelcomeWelcome to Sterling Trails blog.
